More about this app
Samsung battery health and cycle-count viewer with screen-reader-friendly layout via Shizuku.
Battery Health
Battery Health is an Android app for Samsung phones that shows battery health and cycle information in a simple, screen-reader-friendly layout.
It reads:
- battery level
- charging status
- battery temperature
- battery voltage
- charge counter
- Samsung battery health percent
- cycle count when Android exposes it
- estimated cycle count from Samsung battery data when Android does not
Features
- Uses Shizuku for Samsung-specific battery data
- Puts the most important values at the top of the screen
- Includes TalkBack-friendly swipe navigation
- Shows where each value came from
- Keeps a raw details section for troubleshooting
Requirements
- Android 8.0 or newer
- Shizuku installed
- Shizuku started and permission granted to the app
How To Use
- Install Shizuku from its official source.
- Start Shizuku on your phone.
- Open Battery Health.
- Grant Shizuku access when prompted.
- Use Refresh to read the latest values.
What The App Shows
Health- Samsung battery health percent when available
Cycle count- Android cycle count when available
Estimated cycles- Samsung-derived estimate when Android does not expose a cycle count
Samsung details- raw Samsung values such as ASOC, usage, BSOH, and first use date
Accessibility
- Important values are grouped into short swipeable items
- Section titles are exposed as headings
- TalkBack should read rows in a short format such as:
Health, 96 percent. Source, Samsung dumpsys.Estimated cycles, 415. Source, Samsung dumpsys.

Notes
- Some Samsung battery values are vendor-specific and may vary by device
- If Shizuku is not running, the app will still open but Samsung-only values will be unavailable
- Going Home only backgrounds the app; a full close stops the privileged worker
Development
Developer notes are in docs/development.md.
How Shizuku is used
Can view Samsung battery health, cycle estimate and capacity details via `dumpsys battery` and sysfs reads through Shizuku.
This is an AI-assisted analysis of Shizuku-related usages in the app's public source code. It is best effort, so it may not catch every single usage.
How this app uses Shizuku
Shizuku is used to read Samsung specific battery diagnostics that are otherwise unavailable to the app.
- Show Samsung health data: the app displays Samsung battery condition, including state of charge, state of health and first use date, collected with the
dumpsys batteryshell command through Shizuku. - Estimate charge cycles: the app shows an estimated cycle count derived from the Samsung usage counter obtained with the
dumpsys batteryshell command through Shizuku. - Inspect hardware counters: the app shows battery gauge and capacity values by reading system battery files through Shizuku, and presents the raw diagnostic output for review.

Notable details
Basic battery level, status, temperature, voltage and charge counter remain visible without Shizuku using standard Android battery information. Only the Samsung health details, estimated cycles and hardware file summary require Shizuku.
